Cardiac Integrative Care
Lōkahi is a Hawaiian word which means balance, harmony and unity. Lōkahi speaks of balance within ourselves, by restoring harmony in our body, mind and spirit. Lōkahi also speaks to the importance of being in harmony with everything around us...our families, our communities and our world. It is in this Hawaiian tradition of holistic healing and wellness, that Queen's Heart offers Cardiac Integrative Care. Services include wellness consultation with a holistic nurse practitioner in which health habits, stress level and quality of life may be discussed. Consultation may also include wellness education, recommendations for lifestyle change and integrative therapies. Services are available, at no additional charge, to all hospitalized cardiac patients with a doctor's order. Our Core Beliefs:
Our Goals:
Integrative Therapies
Integrative therapies are provided to help with relaxation during
hospitalization as well as enhance comfort. Available therapies include:
Guided Imagery:
Guided Imagery uses the power of the mind and imagination to promote positive effects in the physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual aspects of a person. The images enhance the body's natural healing abilities and help restore a sense of control and power. Aromatherapy:
Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils for a therapeutic response. After a detailed assessment, the nurse practitioner will provide a fragrant scent for you to inhale. Breathe your way to balance with essential oils. Reflexology:
Reflexology is the application of manual pressure on specific reflex points of the feet, hands or ears. This pressure activates a response in a corresponding internal organ or body part. Reflexology is used to promote deep relaxation and enhances the healing process. Mindfulness Meditation:
Mindfulness meditation is a method for focusing attention on the present moment. The practice of mindfulness helps us to face the ups and downs of life with more ease. Medical benefits of this practice include pain management, stress and anxiety reduction, and improved ability to fight infection and disease. A guided one-on-one session is provided to introduce this practice. Healing Touch:
Healing Touch is an energy-based approach to health and healing. It uses physical touch, as well as hand positions held just above the body, to influence the human energy system. Healing Touch involves non-invasive techniques using hands to clear, energize and balance. Massage Therapy:
Massage loosens and tones muscles and connective tissues. It improves circulation of blood and immune supporting fluids throughout the body. Massage stimulates the release of natural chemicals in the body that promote pain relief, relaxation and can improve sleep. For More Information:
